Recently, Sail Solar announced the launch of its next-generation 261kWh Intelligent Liquid-Cooled Cabinet (BESS-P261), a highly integrated energy storage solution designed specifically for industrial and commercial (I&C) applications. Featuring liquid-cooled thermal management, compact all-in-one design, best-in-class safety, and intelligent cloud-based EMS, the product delivers reliable and efficient energy storage for industrial parks, commercial complexes, and solar-storage-charging stations, marking a significant milestone in Sail Solar’s expansion into the C&I storage market.

 

Advanced Liquid Cooling: Solving Thermal Imbalance and Extending Battery Life

As the industrial and commercial energy storage market accelerates, customers increasingly demand higher efficiency, safety, and system longevity. Traditional air-cooling systems often suffer from uneven temperature distribution, large cell-to-cell temperature variations, and accelerated degradation, making them inadequate for high C-rate charge/discharge applications.

 

Sail Solar’s new liquid-cooled cabinet addresses these challenges with an intelligent liquid thermal management system. By circulating coolant to precisely control temperature, the system maintains cell-to-cell temperature differences within ±2°C, significantly improving battery consistency. Compared to air-cooling, liquid cooling enables higher C-rate operation, supporting the “two-cycle” charge/discharge strategy commonly used in commercial applications. It also extends cycle life to over 8,000 cycles, maximizing the system’s lifetime value.

 

All-in-One Integration: Compact Footprint, Fast Deployment

The product features an All-in-One design, integrating long-cycle LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries, a battery management system (BMS), a power conversion system (PCS), an energy management system (EMS), liquid-cooling thermal management, and a fire suppression system into a single outdoor-rated cabinet. The system occupies less than 2 square meters of floor space.

 

Designed for outdoor pad installation, the cabinet requires no separate equipment room and can be commissioned and grid-connected in as little as 1 to 2 days, significantly reducing installation costs and project lead times. With an IP55 ingress protection rating, it is resistant to rain, dust, and salt spray, ensuring reliable operation in a variety of outdoor environments.

Safety is the foundation of any energy storage system. Sail Solar’s liquid-cooled cabinet incorporates a five-tier safety architecture covering cell, module, electrical, fire suppression, and operations:

 

Cell Level: Automotive-grade LFP cells pass rigorous safety tests including nail penetration, overcharge, and thermal runaway.

 

Module Level: Continuous monitoring of cell temperature and voltage enables millisecond-level fault alerts.

 

Electrical Level: Physical separation of AC and DC components, clear isolation of high- and low-voltage circuits, and redundant electrical protections.

 

Fire Suppression: Equipped with Rack-level aerosol and Cube-level aerosol fire extinguishing systems with cell-level detection capability.

 

Operational Level: Cloud-based remote monitoring, predictive fault alerts, and proactive maintenance support.

 

Intelligent EMS Platform: Maximizing Customer Returns

The cabinet is powered by Smart Energy Management System (EMS) , which supports multiple operating modes including peak shaving, peak-valley arbitrage, demand charge management, grid demand response, and PV-storage-charging coordination.

 

The system supports both cloud-based remote dispatching and local standalone operation. Users can monitor real-time charge/discharge data, revenue reports, and system status via mobile app or web portal. The EMS platform also leverages AI-driven optimization, learning facility load patterns to automatically adjust charging and discharging strategies to maximize project returns over time.
